Instructor Kim Hamill is a resident of Taos, New Mexico. Kim first learned to weave from Navajo weaver Pearl Sunrise. She then apprenticed for two years with Rachel Brown (founder of Weaving Southwest and author of The Weaving, Spinning and Dyeing Book.) She received her Bachelor of Arts degree from Goddard College where she completed a self-designed major in weaving. Kim has been an active practitioner of visual arts her whole life. In weaving she has found her true passion and talent. She is an avid explorer of different weaving techniques and is especially inspired by indigenous weaving traditions of the Americas.
The mission of Manos Weaving School is to provide a convenient forum to spread weaving knowledge. We hope to teach basic weaving skills that can be applied to any loom, anywhere. We also hope to accommodate the accomplished weaver who wants to expand her/his technique repertoire.
We are located in the beautiful, thriving arts mecca of downtown Taos; within walking distance of hotels, restaurants, galleries and shops. Enjoy a long weekend in Taos and join the ranks of those who continue the ancient craft of weaving!
